The All Progressives Congress APC has once again demonstrated it’s sheer disrespect for the cultural diversity of Kwara people by parading an Ilorin-Ilorin governorship ticket.
Fresh revelations have shown that Kwara APC gubernatorial candidate, Abdulrazaq Abdulrahman and his running mate, Kayode Alabi are both from Ilorin West Local Government area of the State.
But in a well-scripted arrangement to deceive Kwarans, particularly the people of Kwara South senatorial district, Kayode Alabi is claiming to have hail from Oro-Ago in Ifelodun local government area.
However, recent independent findings have since revealed that Alabi’s claim is outright falsehood. He is not only a registered voter in Ilorin West, all of his official documents that were independently cross-examined also showed that he hails from Ilorin West, where Abdulrazaq Abdulrahman also hails from.
Further investigation also revealed that Kayode Alabi has no concrete link with Oro-Ago, except that some of his family members at a period resided in the community and had since relocated.
Hence, it is safe to say that the people of Kwara South have been short-changed in this unholy arrangement, that is unknown to any precedent in Kwara State and is a potential recipe for political instability.
The Kwara State APC fielded candidates who are from the same local Government and senatorial district. This is a dangerous precedent that must be rejected by every Kwara voter at the polls.
